Approved Minutes of the C.V.V.C meeting held on  December 12, 2004

Opening:

The C.V.V.C Holiday party had a great turn out, food and hospitality with Stephanie Reeder graciously hosting the party.  The general membership meeting began at 3:20 p.m.   

Approval of Minutes

A motion by Susan Potocik to accept the previous meeting minutes as published with David Margolin 2nd the motion.

¨    Treasurer’s Report – Saul Himmelfarb

o      Saul reported the following balances: CD $3,222.00, Rescue $2,913.00, Checking Account $8,184.00.

¨    Corresponding Secretary’s Report  

o      The only correspondence Susan Potocik received was from C. S. Custom Jewelry soliciting us for business. Susan suggested we may consider purchasing products in the future with C.V.V.C’s logo.

¨    Breed Rescue – John Morris

o      The two dogs mentioned in last month’s minutes maybe placed in a temporary foster home and until a permanent home is found.

¨    GSA 2005 Winter Specialty – Carol Phelps

o      Everything is set for the upcoming February 11th show. Jonathan Chase is the sweeps judge and Patricia Mowbray-Morgan is the regular judge. Carol is requesting that anyone that can volunteer any amount of time to help out at the Specialty to please contact her at szizlin3@aol.com or 860-295-9609. As part of C.V.V.C’s agreement to hold a Specialty with the GSA, we must commit to 6 hours total of helping at the event with various duties. So if you spare a ½ hour or so, don’t be shy send an email or call Carol.

¨    GKC 2005 Summer Specialty

o      Please note the June 11 Specialty will held at a different location. The location is in Norwalk, CT at the Taylor Farm Park. Sweeps judge will be Kevin Flynn and the regular judge is Madeleine Fish.

o      The LSKC Supported entry show will be held the following day in the FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights, NY with Sweeps being judged by Peggy Davis and regular classes judged by William Taylor. Please note: there will be a limit of 1,500 total entries accepted for this show on June 11, so get your entries in early.

¨    2005 Field Trial Committee Report

o      The date for the 2005 field trial will be April 22, 23 & 24 at Flaherty Field. There are plenty of job openings such as hospitality, bird planting, line marshalling, etc. So if you can help, let us know. We will have contact names by the next meeting notice.

¨    2005 Hunt Test

o      The date for the 2005 hunt test will be October 1st & 2nd  at Dearborn part of Flaherty Field.

¨      Publication Committee Report

o      Submissions of articles and pictures for future newsletters should be submitted to Susan Potocik, 6 Lindholm Corner, Andover, CT 06232 or cinnabarviz@att.net. The deadline for the next newsletter is January 15th.

¨    Fun Day Committee – Marisa Fowler

o      The Fun Day will be on March 12, 2005 at Paws ‘N Effect in Hamden, CT. Patsy Dahlinghaus And Judy Resnick have volunteered to help out. If you can donate sometime to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Marisa Fowler at vizl1@juno.com or 203-949-1585 Watch for the flyer to arrive in your mailbox in February.
