Conformation Committee:
                Ida Tenebom
  • Ida reported that she will make a reservation at a hotel for the June 10 specialty’s sweeps judge. Ida requested the board’s approval to rent 3 tables @ $9 each from Greenwich KC and the board approved the request. In order to provide food for the June 10th specialty, the board will divide up the CVVC membership list into groups. Assigned board members will then call the members in their group and request that they bring either sandwiches, dessert or snacks along with a six pack of soda, juice or water and a donation for the raffle. Judy Resnick volunteered to set up the tables at the specialty for the hospitality and raffle.
Carol Phelps
  • Carol gave the financial report on the GSA specialty held in February 2006. The expenses totaled $2,776.23 and the income was $3,503.41 leaving a profit of $25.18.
  • Regarding the possibility of having a specialty instead of a supported entry at the November Thanksgiving Cluster at Springfield, MA was dropped because per AKC a club can only hold 2 specialties per year. So it was decided to leave the November show at Springfield as a supported entry.

  • Carol reported that the regular judge for the February 2007 GSA specialty will be Judy Harrington. A sweeps judge will have to be picked for the November Springfield supported entry.

2006 Field Trial Committee Report: The preliminary financial report for the April 2006 field trial shows a $700 loss. This may be attributed to an approximate increase of $400 for the purchase of the birds. The preliminary cost for the food is $831. It was also reported that there were 20 dogs scratched from the entries.

Discussion by the board members took place on what we need to do to get back to a monetary gain for running a field trial. We will send this back to the field trial committee to take a better look at this years vs. the prior years running of the field trial to better plan for the 2007 trial and see where they can improve financially and improvements for better accounting.
